The Hurricanes have survived a late comeback by the Highlanders to win 22-21 in the Super Rugby Pacific last night.

The Hurricanes started well by scoring two tries from Bailyn Sullivan and Salesi Raiyasi to give them a 14-6 lead at the break.

A penalty goal by Jordie Barrett, seven minutes into the second half, increases their lead to 17, however, the Highlanders managed to score their first try from a line-out maul from replacement hooker, Andrew Makalio.

A try from Max Hicks and two penalty goals by Marty Banks gave the Highlanders a 22-17 lead.

The match was not over as Hurricanes fullback Aidan Morgan crossed over the line at the corner, giving them their 3rd win this season.

In other results, the Chiefs thrashed Moana Pasifika 45-12 and the Waratahs thumped Western Force 45-24.
