The Hurricanes have moved back to top spot in the Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific points table after overcoming an early red card to hooker Raymond Tuputupu to beat the Chiefs 20-17 last night.

Tuputupu was given a yellow card for head contact in the eighth minute, which was upgraded to a red, and despite that disadvantage, they dominated to lead 14-0 at the break.

The Chiefs rallied to level at 17-17 before Hurricanes five-eighth Brett Cameron sealed the visitors' win.

The kick from more than 40 meters usually would be taken by Hurricanes captain Jordie Barrett, but he deferred to Cameron to nail the winning goal.

The Chiefs took a bonus point but stayed third after losing their unbeaten record at home this season.

In another match last night, the Brumbies beat the Rebels 53-17.

In other Super Rugby Pacific matches, Moana Pasifika will take on the Waratahs at 4.30pm today, the Blues will face the Crusaders at 7.05 tonight, the Reds will meet the Force at 9.35 tonight, and the Swire Shipping Fijian Drua will play the Highlanders at 2.05pm tomorrow.
