Hundreds turn up for Fiji Day celebration at Albert Park

It was a sea of blue as hundreds turned up today at Albert Park in Suva to be part of the Fiji Day celebration.

The celebration, which kicked off with a friendly march through the streets of Suva, showed a vibrant display of patriotism, unity, and pride.

The Fiji Police Force band, whose lively tunes brought rhythm and excitement to the streets, led participants from the Suva Flea Market to Albert Park.

The march was not only a celebration of Fiji’s independence since 1970, but also a tribute to the resilience, strength, and unity that continue to define our beautiful nation.

As the crowd gathered at Albert Park, the atmosphere was filled with pride, joy, and the true Fiji Day spirit.

Acting President and Chief Justice, Salesi Temo, reaffirmed the nation’s commitment, stating that the government’s aim is to protect and nurture its young people as the foundation for a stronger future.

Temo says the well-being of children must remain a top priority as the country continues to navigate social and economic challenges.

The Fiji Day celebrations at Albert Park featured vibrant entertainment from the Fiji Police Force band, and a 21-gun salute ceremony was held by the Republic of Fiji Military Forces, symbolizing national pride and unity.
