Communications Fiji Limited’s Gratitude Concert brought the community together at Albert Park yesterday, with families and music lovers enjoying music, entertainment and appreciation as CFL celebrated its 41st anniversary.
CFL is the parent company of fijivillage, FM96, LegendFM, VITIFM, Navtarang and Radio Sargam.
Speaking to fijivillage News, CFL General Manager Charles Taylor says it was a fantastic night, with the weather holding out and local artists delivering memorable performances for the people.
Taylor says families, including grandparents, couples and children, gathered on mats to enjoy performances by local artists, along with food and the vibrant atmosphere.

Taylor says the concert was CFL’s way of thanking the people for their support over the past 41 years.
He says CFL will continue the event next year and has encouraged those who missed this year’s concert to be part of it.
Vude Queen, Laisa Vulakoro says she feels honoured to be part of CFL’s Gratitude Concert.
Vulakoro says performing her classic songs, along with a new song that has not yet been played on radio, was a memorable experience, with the crowd responding positively throughout the evening.

The Vude Queen says it was wonderful to see both established and young artists sharing the same stage, highlighting the growth of Fiji’s music industry.
She also encouraged local artists to continue creating new music, adapting to changing times while preserving their ability to connect and bring joy to audiences.
Isireli Vulaca, drummer for The Gang featuring Billy T, says they thoroughly enjoyed performing and were encouraged to see a large crowd enjoying the performances.
Vulaca says events like the Gratitude Concert not only provide opportunities for local bands to perform but also bring families and friends together to enjoy live music, good food and the beautiful weather.
He also encouraged aspiring musicians to connect with experienced local artists, saying many established performers are willing to mentor and support the next generation of Fiji’s music talent.
Meanwhile, local rapper Peni Roqara, better known as Ju Ben says performing at the CFL Gratitude Concert was a special moment, as it marked a return to where his musical journey first gained recognition.
Ju Ben says the atmosphere was amazing and he had been looking forward to performing at the event, adding that it was an honour to share his own music while representing Fiji’s hip hop movement.
He also encouraged aspiring hip hop artists to pursue their passion without hesitation, saying people can succeed as musicians just as they can in rugby or other careers.
