Hundreds of people from all walks of life gathered at the Nabua Methodist Church to remember and celebrate the life and legacy of former Fiji Netball Coach, Unaisi Rokoura.
Rokoura passed away last Saturday at the age of 47.
Her brother, Aseri Rokoura says his sister’s passing has sent shock waves through their village, family, and the Pacific sporting community.
Netball Fiji President, RubyAnn Sorovaki says tributes for Rokoura are pouring in, not only for her achievements, but for the woman she was, humble, warm, and deeply loved for her commitment to inspiring young athletes and serving her community.
She says the remarkable multi-sport athlete also represented Fiji in hockey, rugby 15s, basketball, and beach volleyball — showcasing extraordinary talent and versatility rarely seen in modern sport.
Sorovaki adds that from 1997 to 2006, Rokoura captained the Fiji Pearls, leading with dignity, determination, and unwavering faith.
Rokoura was laid to rest Lovonilase Cemetery in Tamavua-i-Wai.
