Holi the vibrant festival of colors, is a joyous reminder of the triumph of good over evil, celebrated with folk songs and delicious sweets.

A renowned kirtan singer and a member of the Naselai Ramayan Bhajan Mandali in Nausori, Kevin Kumar says Holi has always been a significant event for them.

He says Holi brings communities together in a spirit of unity across the country.

Kumar says there has been a strong presence of youth involvement in the mandali and are taught by their elders to guide them for the future.

Kumar says they recently won first prize at the Faag Sammelan held at the Pundit Shreedhar Maharaj College.

While speaking to fijivillage News about youth-related issues, Kumar expresses concern about the rising number of drug cases in the country.

He adds several young people may take the wrong path and he is encouraging elders to raise awareness on this issue.

Meanwhile, many Hindus will be celebrating Holi today where several groups will be going from house to house, singing folk songs and splashing colours and water.
