With Diwali being celebrated tomorrow, Hindus are marking Roop Narak Chaturthi also known as Chhoti Diwali today and putting the final touches on their preparations ahead of the big day.

Chhoti Diwali, symbolises the victory of Lord Krishna over the demon Narakasura.

According to the Shree Sanatan Dharm Pratinidhi Sabha of Fiji National General Secretary Krishneel Tiwari, today reminds us that truth and righteousness always triumph over evil.

He says devotees bathe early in the morning, light lamps and prepare for the grand celebration of Diwali the next day.

Rishaal Kumar of Davuilevu Housing, is installing decorative lights outside before decorating the house inside.

Kumar says he enjoys decorating his home for Diwali as it is one of the ways he pays tribute to his late father, with whom he used to decorate the house.

He hopes people will cherish the day with their loved ones.

Another Davuilevu Housing resident, Roshni Kumar says she has prepared all the sweets for Diwali and will be spending the day resting and making final preparations for tomorrow.

She says everything is mostly ready but is sure that something last minute will come up or she will remember something else she wanted to do.

Kumar hopes the weather will be good tomorrow and that her invited guests will make it to her home.

Diwali will be celebrated tomorrow, while Govardhan Pooja and Bhai Dooj will be observed on Wednesday and Thursday respectively.
