Hindu community observes last day of Navratri

By Priya Nand
01/10/2025

As the sacred festival of Navratri draws to a close, the Hindu community are coming together in devotion, colour, music, and deep spiritual purpose.

Shree Sanatan Dharm Pratinidhi Sabha of Fiji National President, Dhirendra Nand says over the past nine nights, homes and temples have been filled with the sounds of kirtans, the rhythm of garbha and dandiya, and the sacred stories of Goddess Durga.

He says that as we reach the final day of Navratri, it is not just a celebration but also a time of reflection and transformation.

Nand called on the community to extend their prayers to those less fortunate, including the sick, the elderly, and those unable to attend temple services.

Nand extended warm greetings to all devotees and well-wishers across the nation, adding that as the final aarti is performed and the last kirtans are sung tonight, the spirit of Navratri will live on in the values of respect, compassion, and community.
