The Highlanders will be looking to repeat their dominant performance from the last time they met the Crusaders at Forsyth Barr Stadium in 2018.

This Saturday will be the 840th day since the Highlanders and Crusaders last played in Dunedin where the host team defeated the Crusaders 25-17.

Five players from the winning Highlanders side remain with the squad this year which include captain Ash Dixon, Aaron Smith, Dillon Hunt, Rob Thompson and Shannon Frizell.

This time the Highlanders will not have the services of Lima Sopoaga who played a crucial part in their win in 2018 converting all their three tries and two penalties that won them the match.

Meanwhile, the Crusaders who have been crowned Super Rugby champions for the past three years will be aiming that history does not repeat itself when they play the Highlanders.

Over 17,000 tickets have already been sold for Saturday night’s clash.

The Crusaders will take on the Highlanders at 7.05pm Saturday while the Chiefs will face the Hurricanes at 3.35pm Sunday.
