High Court discharges 3 men who allegedly assaulted bus driver resulting in his death as murder investigation continues

The Suva High Court has discharged the three men who allegedly assaulted a bus driver at Nausori Bus Stand who later passed away.

State lawyer filed an application to discontinue the case on the charge of act with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm as the bus driver has passed away.

Mikaele Lawaniyale, Josateki Rokodakunivosa and Isikeli Lagibalavu allegedly assaulted the bus driver on the 3rd of this month.

The three are now back into police custody and expected to be charged with murder and produced in court later.

Police had earlier re-classified the case as murder after receiving the post mortem report.
