Local rugby fans can expect an electrifying competition as the 49th Fiji Bitter Marist 7s kicks off this week, bringing together hidden and unknown talents from across Fiji.

Marist 7s Organizing Committee Chairman Lawrence Tikaram told fijivillage News that this year’s tournament will be more than just a battle for glory, it will be a showcase of raw, undiscovered talent from grassroots teams making their debut on Fiji’s biggest 7s stage.

He says these teams have trained and fundraised all year for this moment, and it’s an honour to host them, with some travelling from Kadavu, Bua, Naitasiri, and even as far as Lakeba in Lau.

Tikaram also highlighted that the Marist 7s will be an exciting tournament to watch, as two teams from Samoa will make their debut, bringing an international flair to the competition.

He further says that fans can look forward to three action-packed days of rugby at HFC Bank Stadium, with over 95 teams and more than 1,500 players battling for supremacy. Tickets are available online for just $22, making it an unbeatable opportunity to witness rugby’s next big stars in the making.

The Marist 7s kicks off this Thursday and runs through until Saturday at HFC Bank Stadium, Suva.
