The Hibiscus Festival which is celebrating its 68th anniversary, has just announced their partnerships with the Fiji Arts Council and the Suva Orchid and Horticulture Circle for the 2024 Miss Hibiscus Festival.

Chairperson of the Hibiscus Standing Committee, Opetaia Ravai expressed his enthusiasm for these collaborations saying this partnership is an exciting opportunity to showcase the vibrant Fijian culture.

Ravai says with the involvement of the Fiji Arts Council, attendees at the Presentation Show on September 4th can expect to be mesmerized by rich cultural and traditional performances, including dances that will captivate the audience as part of the evening program.

He says the Suva Orchid and Horticulture Circle will join forces with the Fiji Arts Council to design and organize the creative visuals of the main stage on August 31st and September 7th, as well as the Presentation Show stage on September 4th.

The Chairperson says their expertise will ensure a stunning and memorable experience for all attendees.

He says additionally, the festival program will include the highly anticipated National Flower Show, held alongside the National Archives of Fiji exhibition at the Suva Civic Centre from Saturday, August 31st to Saturday, September 7th.

Ravai says florists will curate exquisite flower displays throughout the week, while the National Archives will showcase vintage images from the history of the Miss Hibiscus Festival, offering a nostalgic look at past events.

He says this year, the Hibiscus Festival program is set to be unlike any previous festival, with a stronger emphasis on culture, dance, art, food experiences, and promoting Suva as a must-visit destination.

The Chairperson says they aim to attract more international visitors to our capital city.

He says sponsors for the 2024 festival will be announced soon, promising an exciting lineup of partners that align with the iconic platform of the Miss Hibiscus Festival.

The event will be held from August 31st to September 7th at the Suva Civic Centre and Suva foreshore.
