Heavy rain warning issued for most parts of the country

A heavy rain alert is in force for the rest of the country.

A trough of low pressure lies over the country and is expected to further intensify tonight.

Showers are expected to become frequent from tonight with isolated thunderstorms and heavy falls from early tomorrow morning.

Heavy rain can cause flooding of low lying areas.
