A heavy rain warning previously in force for the Lau and Lomaiviti groups, Kadavu and nearby smaller islands has now been cancelled.
The Nadi Weather Office says a weak trough of low pressure lies over the eastern parts of the country.
They say a moist northeast to southeast wind flow prevails over the group.
Meanwhile, thunderstorms with heavy falls are expected over Viti Levu and Vanua Levu in the afternoon.
