Heavy rain over the weekend has caused flooding in areas such as Soasoa flats, Namaka Irish Crossing and Waiqele Bridge in Labasa.

Labasa Town Council Acting Chief Executive Officer, Mohammed Faiz Ali says the good news is that the tide is receding and they are urging people to take precautions.

Ali says the Labasa market is closed and bus services have also been suspended due to the current weather conditions.

Meanwhile, a Heavy Rain Warning remains in force for the Vanua Levu and a Flood Warning remains in force for flood-prone areas adjacent and downstream of all major rivers of Vanua Levu.
