A heavy rain alert remains in force for Viti Levu, Yasawa and Mamanuca groups, Kadavu and nearby smaller islands, Moala and Southern Lau group.

The Nadi Weather Office says a strong wind warning is in force for the land areas of Kadavu and nearby smaller islands.

They say a coastal inundation alert remains in force for the southern coastal areas of Viti Levu from Natadola-Vatukarasa-Coral Coast, Kadavu and nearby smaller islands, Moala group, southern Lau group.

A trough of low pressure lies over the group.

Associated clouds affect the eastern parts of the country and another trough of low pressure with associated cloud and rain is expected to approach the country from the west and affect parts of the group from today.

Localised heavy rain may lead to flash flooding over low-lying and flood-prone areas across the country.
