People are advised to be prepared as a heavy rain alert remains in force for Southern and Eastern Viti Levu, including Suva-Nausori-Navua, Momi-Sigatoka-Korolevu, Serua-Namosi, Naitasiri, interior Ra, Rakiraki-Tailevu North, Kadavu and nearby smaller islands, as well as the Lau and Lomaiviti groups.
The alert is now also in effect for the rest of Viti Levu, along with the Yasawa and the Mamanuca groups.
The Nadi Weather Office says that localised heavy rain is possible, which may lead to flash flooding in low-lying and flood-prone areas.
They say that a trough of low pressure is expected to approach the group from later today, bringing associated cloud, showers, and rain, which is likely to affect the region until Thursday.
People can expect occasional rain, heavy at times, with a few thunderstorms developing from the west later in the day.
Visibility on roads may be poor during thunderstorms or periods of heavy rain.
