A heavy rain alert is in force for the whole of Fiji.
The Nadi Weather Office says a heavy rain warning remains in force for the Eastern half of Viti Levu (covering Serua-Namosi through Navua-Suva-Nausori to Tailevu-Naitasiri-Ra), the Yasawa group, the Northern Division, Lau and Lomaiviti groups, Kadavu, and nearby smaller islands.
They say a trough of low pressure, with associated cloud, showers, and rain, is expected to affect the group until later tomorrow.
People can expect flash flooding in flood-prone and low-lying informal settlements, communities, business areas, and Irish crossings, leading to traffic disruptions.
Surface flooding is also possible on streets in urban areas with poor drainage.
Motorists are advised to expect wet roads and reduced visibility, especially during heavy downpours, which increase the risk of road accidents.
