A Heavy Rain Alert remains in force for Yasawa and Mamanuca Groups, Viti Levu, Kadavu, and nearby smaller islands and Lomaiviti and Southern Lau Groups.

The Fiji Meteorological Service says a trough of low pressure is expected to approach the group from the west with associated clouds and showers to affect parts of Fiji from later tonight.

It is anticipated that this system will periodically produce heavy rain in the areas under a Heavy Rain Alert.

The Nadi Weather Office will monitor this weather phenomenon and update forecasts and warnings as necessary.
