A Heavy Rain Alert is now in force for Viti Levu, Yasawa, Mamanuca, Kadavu and nearby smaller islands.
The Nadi Weather Office says a trough of low pressure lies slow moving over the group which is associated with cloud and rain which is expected to affect the group until later tomorrow.
They say localised heavy rain may also lead to flash flooding in low-lying areas, flooding of minor roads and Iris crossing with disruption to traffic flow. They further say occasional rain is expected over most places, with isolated thunderstorms and heavy rain.
