In the appeal case where the State has sought a review of the judgement guidelines regarding Lenora Qereqeretabua and Agni Deo Singh’s cases against former school teacher Kishore Kumar, the court has set a hearing for November 4th.

The Legal Aid Commission has also confirmed their legal representation for Kumar in the cases.

Judge Siainiu Fa’alogo Bull has asked both parties to submit thorough submissions on the offences.

Justice Bull has given 21 days to the State to file their submission, and 14 days thereafter to the respondents.

The 57-year-old avoided spending time behind bars when, on 17th April this year, he received a 1 year 10 months sentence suspended for five years in the Lenora Qereqeretabua case and a 12-month sentence suspended for three years in the Agni Deo Singh case.

He was sentenced by Magistrate Seini Puamau in both cases.
