The Deputy Prime Minister of the Doctor Timoci Bavadra led 1987 government, Harish C Sharma, has launched his book named ‘A Road to Parliament’.

The book contains a living testimony of Sharma and his family history.

He worked as a young lawyer for the founder of the National Federation Party, A.D Patel.

Sharma was also the Minister for Housing, Urban Development and Information in 1987 before Sitiveni Rabuka overthrew the government in a military coup on May 14th.

Sharma says he started writing the book after the influence of his family and also his best friend the late Professor Brij Lal.

The former Deputy Prime Minister says he is glad that his book is finally out for the people to enjoy reading.

While speaking at the launch, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance, Professor Biman Prasad says Sharma is a man of wisdom, humility and a shining example of what one can achieve in life through political morality, transparency and accountability.

Professor Prasad says Sharma has contributed immensely to the political, religious and cultural advancement of the Indo-Fijian diaspora in Fiji.

He adds he understands the dedication, hard work and effort that is needed for the completion of a book.

Meanwhile, more than 50 people were at the launch at Jai Narayan College last night who came from other parts of Fiji to be part of this occasion.
