Hard work has paid off for 19-year-old Sainimili Bainivalu after she was received the Dux Award during the Adi Cakobau School 2023 Annual Prize Giving ceremony.

The 19-year-old was full of joy after scoring the highest marks in Mathematics, English, Physics, Biology and Chemistry.

The pure science student acknowledged the endless support of her parents and teachers for teaching her for the last few years.

She says being awarded the Dux is a great achievement as she has fulfilled her dreams since entering ACS in Year 9.

She is hoping to achieve higher marks in the Year 13 external exam and to pursue her career at FNU under the School of Medicine.

Sainimili’s father, Semisi Bainivalu says at the beginning of this year he reminded his three daughters that their results will never lie and that they need to prove to themselves that they can do better.

Semisi says as a parent he was proud of the results attained by his daughter.

He also reminded parents to prioritize the education of their children.

Saimili has two younger sisters who were also awarded first prize in their respective levels.
