HK 7s: Fiji to play Spain at 11.47 tonight in cup quarter final

The Fiji Airways National Men’s 7s team is through to the cup quarter finals even though they were thumped 35-7 by Argentina in their last pool game at the Hong Kong 7s this afternoon.

They will play Spain at 11.47 tonight.

The Argentinian team put on a masterclass performance as they starved Fiji of possession while scoring five converted tries.

The Fiji team will need to work on their discipline as Iowane Teba was shown a yellow card after he tackled a player without the ball in the first half.

Try scoring machine Joji Nasova scored Fiji’s lone try.

Fiji had earlier defeated the USA 26-14 before edging Ireland 21-19 last night.

In earlier games, France beat Kenya 14-7, Spain defeated Great Britain 26-12, Ireland outplayed the USA 19-10.

The cup semi finals will start at 7pm tomorrow and the cup final will kick off at 11.46pm tomorrow.
