Grammar wins U14 Southern Zone Deans final

Etika Tawaketini has been hailed the hero for the Suva Grammar School U14 rugby side after converting a penalty in the final minutes of the match that enable them to defeat Marist Brothers High School 15-12 in the Vodafone Southern Zone Secondary School Rugby Competition this morning.

The two teams were locked 12-all before the final buzzer, but a penalty was given to Grammar that decided the result of the game.

Tevita Tunidau and Amani Takayawa scored a try each for Grammar.

Marist replied with a try from Ebeneza Saukuru and was converted by Waisale Raiyawa, but they lacked the time to capitalize on their opportunities.

The main game between Marist and Grammar in the U18 final will be held at 4.10pm.

In the U15 final, Marist is leading Grammar 10-0.

Marist will be facing Grammar in the U16 final at 12.35pm.

The Marist U17 side will face MGM in the final at 1.40pm while the Marist U19 team will take on Lomary.

The U18 elimination between Nasinu and Sacred Heart College will be held at 1.40pm, and the winner will also go through to the national quarterfinals.

In the elimination round, the U14 for CMF will be facing Nasinu at 8.30am, Gospel U15 will be playing Nasinu at 9.30am, Dudley to face the U16 for Nasinu at 10.35am, the Grammar U17 will be facing Nasinu at 11.35am and Nasinu U19 will face Naitasiri at 2.30pm.

All finals will be held at the HFC Bank Stadium and all the elimination rounds will be held at the Buckhurst ground.

The Eastern Zone Dean's final admission is $10 for the Grandstand, $7 for the Concrete stand and $5 for the Embankment.
