Grammar thumps Gospel 40-8 in U16 finals

The Suva Grammar School U16 side has decimated Gospel High School 40-8 in the U16 Vodafone Super Deans final at the HFC Bank stadium.

Grammar showed their dominance as they scored two converted tries to lead 14-8 at the break.

Prop Amani Navatubuli scored the first try for Grammar in the second spell, converted by Tomasi Vakaweleivalu to extend their lead to 21-8.

The rampaging Grammar forwards were too strong for Gospel as they continued to bulldoze their way through the defence.

It was a one sided affair as Grammar was just scoring at will due to them retaining the most possession.

The boys from Nasese scored five more tries to close out the game 40-8.

Queen Victoria School beat Suva Grammar School 17-15 to win the U14 title while in U15 Suva Grammar School beat Mahatma Gandhi Memorial High School 27-24.

Lelean Memorial School is currently playing Ratu Kadavulevu School in the U17 final.

Ratu Kadavulevu School will take on Nasinu Secondary School in the U18 final at 5.30pm.

Tailevu North College will play Nasinu Secondary in the U19 at 2.50pm.

In the Weet-Bix Raluve finals, Ratu Latianara created history as they dispatched giants Sigatoka Methodist College 12-10 in the U16 final.

Jasper Williams High School will meet Natabua High School in the Raluve U18 final at 4.20pm.
