Opposition Leader Inia Seruiratu

As a responsible and alternative government, the Opposition will work together with the coalition government but will not deviate from their core values.

This was highlighted by Opposition Leader Inia Seruiratu during the Fijian Opposition Chamber Facebook page launch.

Seruiratu says this is a new beginning and as responsible stakeholders, they will take their responsibility seriously as they have a very critical role to play.

He says during matters of national interest, geopolitics, and developments locally, regionally, and globally, they will ensure that they will keep the government in check.

Seruiratu says they will make sure that they represent their voters through the media and other stakeholders.

He says the government has the right to govern and as the opposition or alternative government they have the right to be heard.

When questioned on the need for a special Opposition Chamber Facebook page, Seruiratu says the FijiFirst Party's Facebook page remains however, when it comes to parliamentary work they are representing the party and the people that voted for them.

He says people need to be aware of the developments and changes that are happening around them.

It was earlier announced that although there have been resignations from parliament, Voreqe Bainimarama remains the FijiFirst Party Leader and Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum continues as the party’s General Secretary.
