Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Civil Aviation Viliame Gavoka

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Civil Aviation Viliame Gavoka says the Government has made a request for all the sacked staff of Fiji Airways and Air Terminal Services to come back.

758 Fiji Airways and 258 ATS staff lost their jobs in May 2020 due to COVID-19.

He says the process is now happening and they will leave it to them to resolve it.

While speaking to the media after the cabinet meeting today, Gavoka says the management and the workers are putting together a program to bring the workers back.

When questioned how this will be funded, Gavoka says ATS is a company and they have resources to absorb those people back.
