398 food and essential item packs were distributed to families in home isolation and lockdown areas by government yesterday.

This includes 155 packs for families in home isolation while 243 packs were delivered to families in Qauia Settlement.

Another 149 packs will be distributed in the settlement today which will cover all the essentials a family typically uses ranging from groceries and vegetables to cleaning supplies and toiletries.

Government says residents in the Qauia targeted lockdown area had received larger household packs in round one to ensure families had adequate food and essential items.

They say should the targeted lockdown area continue, then the next round of distribution would be after seven days.

Around 8,980 groceries and essential item packs have been distributed to those in targeted lockdown and home isolation so far.
