Minister for Industry, Trade, Tourism and Transport, Faiyaz Koya confirms they have assisted about 6,000 micro, small and medium enterprises to either continue their business or to start a business, valued at $32.5 million.

He has highlighted this during the Fiji Chamber of Commerce and Industry panel discussion on Driving the Future Business where he says 45 percent were women entrepreneurs.

Koya says to encourage more businesses, they have, since 2019, streamlined and removed bureaucracy from starting a business process.

The Minister says in the coming months, the processes for starting a business and building permits will be digitalised, making applications and approvals easier.

He says people will have the ability to track their application and they will have a more efficient, responsive and accountable government service.
