Govt and investors need to also raise awareness on the disadvantages of mining rather than only the advantages - Mataqali Nabukebuke Namosi

Most of the time government officials only talk about the benefits of mining.

Mataqali Nabukebuke Namosi member, Iowane Taukeisalili highlighted this during their meeting with government officials at the Namosi Provincial Hall in Navua.

Taukeisalili asks do they think that they are sharing these facts to the blind.

He says they need the government and the investors to raise awareness on the disadvantages of mining rather than elaborating only on the advantages.

He says the concerns raised by their Mataqali of Nabukebuke Namosi is whether the green landscape that surrounds their village.

Taukeisalili asks on if it will be maintained throughout the process of mining or will it be destroyed.

He adds they are more worried about their future generation.
