Gospel High School is making history today as the entire school community including students, teachers, parents, and old scholars, rallies behind their Under-16 rugby team ahead of their Vodafone Super Deans final against Suva Grammar School.
While speaking to fijivillage Sports, team manager Bulewa Tamanisau shared the excitement, calling this moment massive for the school as it marks their first-ever appearance in a Deans final.
Tamanisau says the team focused on fine-tuning their weaknesses in training, determined to give Grammar a strong challenge.
She says players' confidence will be key, especially after their impressive wins over Queen Victoria School and Marist Brothers High School earlier in the competition.
She added that the coaching team is encouraging the boys to play as a unit and not get distracted by the big-game atmosphere, acknowledging that most of the players are not used to performing in front of large crowds.
Gospel High School will take on Suva Grammar School at 11.50am.
Lelean Memorial School will meet Ratu Kadavulevu School in the U17 final at 1.10pm, Tailevu North College will play Nasinu Secondary in the U19 at 2.50pm.
