It was a joyful day for the villagers of Nawamagi in Nadroga after their dreams of having clean water were fulfilled as the Water Authority of Fiji completed the extension of the main at Nawamagi.

This will ensure that 31 families and nearby schools will have clean and safe drinking water.

The project cost $560,000.

WAF also recently carried out an awareness with members of Samusamu Village where the WAF Community Engagement Officer, Winnie Hoyte, Project Leader, Mitieli Tamata and Acting Project Leader – Rural, Sairusi Raseru visited the village and spoke on the process of obtaining a new water meter connection and understanding water bills with emphasis on the importance of being water wise.

40 villagers from Yalava and Samusamu attended the awareness session.
