As a Great Council of Chiefs delegation departs for China today, Minister for iTaukei Affairs Ifereimi Vasu says main agenda for this visit is to learn from China's successful poverty alleviation and rural development strategies.

Vasu will be leading the GCC delegation representing each province including Rotuma, on a tour of three Chinese provinces, sponsored by the Government of the People's Republic of China.

Vasu says seeing China's development first-hand will be an invaluable experience for the GCC and this visit will no doubt play a pivotal role in guiding their strategies to uplift iTaukei villages.

He says the eight day visit signifies a major step forward in the development of iTaukei villages, central to the delegation's agenda is learning from China's successful poverty alleviation and rural development strategies.

Vasu says this knowledge will be invaluable in enhancing the socio-economic fabric of iTaukei villages, fostering sustainable and inclusive growth.
