President Jioji Konrote and Speaker of Parliament, Ratu Epeli Nailatikau who have received both doses of the COVID-19 AstraZeneca vaccine are urging those who are eligible to do the same.

Konrote is appealing to all Fijians 18 years old and above to think of our beloved nation and take the vaccine.

He says he is grateful for the opportunity, not just to be safe but to do his bid for the country and the people.

Ratu Epeli says the Ministry of Health has already given their advice so the best thing to do is to follow it.

He says the jabs will keep you and your family safe.

Meanwhile, 315,898 adults in Fiji have received their first dose of the AstraZeneca vaccine and 51,408 people have received their second doses.

This means that 54% of the target population has received at least one dose and 8.8 % are now fully vaccinated nationwide.
