The Free Bird Institute in the western division is concerned with the increase in the number of its foreign students being robbed around Lautoka and Nadi.

Free Bird Institute Ltd Chief of Operations Mereseini Baleilevuka says about twenty students have been robbed so far and it is unfortunate that these innocent students are being targetted.

Baleilevuka says their students are in Fiji to study English and become a part of the community and people should always welcome them with our Fijian hospitality.

A march was held last week in partnership with the Tourism Ministry and Police to raise awareness about the issue.

More than 15,000 students from 29 different countries have graduated from Free Bird Institute since it was established in 2015.
