The four people who went missing from Yanuca on Wednesday night have been found.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations Livai Driu says the four drifted to Lomawai in Sigatoka and are all safe.

He says they drifted in a fibre fishing boat from Yanuca at around 5pm due to a problem with the engine, and they managed to paddle the boat using the seat ply and reached the shore at Namata, Nadi at 2 this morning.

ACP Driu says the four went to the nearest house and used a phone to inform their family of their status.

He urges people to monitor the maritime weather forecast before heading out to sea.

ACP Driu acknowledges all stakeholders and members of the communities who had a helping hand in the search and rescue efforts.
