Former VITIFM Content Director Litia Daugunu Naiteqe has created history as being the first Fijian and Pacific Islander to be appointed as the Southwest and Pacific Director for USA Netball.

USA Netball Association President, Radica Wright says Naiteqe will oversee the development and promotion of netball in Arizona, Nevada, California, Utah, Hawaii, New Mexico and Colorado.

Wright says Naiteqe’s enthusiasm, determination and commitment to excellence have been truly inspiring and she is confident Naiteqe will excel in this critical role.

She says Naiteqe will continually receive comprehensive training guidance and support to ensure success in this role.

Naiteqe who is married to former Fiji national sevens rep Sailosi Naiteqe Jnr, has always been a strong advocate for netball where she served as President of Waimanu Netball Club in Sawani, Naitasiri, and as President of Wardens Wives Netball Club.

She says one of her greatest strengths is her media background she acquired at Communications Fiji Limited which makes her more confident in pushing netball forward.

Currently serving as Assistant Manager for the USA Flying Eagles, Naiteqe’s new appointment allows her to expand her contributions further.

Naiteqe says God has brought her this far and he will be her guidance all the way.
