Former Suva Grammar School Student and former United States Olympian Andrew Durutalo has been appointed the New Director of Rugby Operations for the Hong Kong Rugby Union.

Durutalo, who also represented Fiji in age-group rugby as part of the Under 19 and Under 21 sides in 2006 and 2007, has settled in well in Hong Kong and is excited about his new role.

According to the football club magazine, Durutalo’s experience is a nod to their ambition to run their rugby program with the same precision and professionalism from an elite sporting organization, and in Durutalo, they found someone who knows exactly what that looks like.

They say his experience, education, and career span over several continents, and he has a wealth of life and sports experience to call upon with his playing journey from the USA-Eagles, earning 22 caps in fifteens, and over 40 HSBC sevens tournaments to the 2015 rugby world cup and 2016 sevens Olympics.

The Ban man has also completed his MBA at Oxford University.

Duratalo told fijivillage Sports he is glad to be given this challenge, and he is excited to see the growth of rugby in Hong Kong.
