A former Fiji resident who now resides in Australia is helping the needy and the less fortunate by donating wheelchairs, stretchers and walkers.

Donor Anjali Shafiq says she has donated around 12 wheelchairs, more than 20 stretchers and walkers to people in Sigatoka, Nadi, Lautoka, Ba, Rakiraki and Suva.

She says she has seen people suffering and in need of such types of equipment and everything she donates is through her and her husband's earnings.

The 63-year-old says she does not donate these things to any organizations or hospitals as she knows that it sometimes does not go to the right people.

Shafiq says after Cyclone Winston they had also helped some people in building their homes and donated clothes to people.

She further says she hopes to continue supporting the Fijians in the upcoming years.
