Focus on the message of light over darkness and good over evil – PM Rabuka

With many Hindus in Fiji and around the world preparing for Diwali celebrations tomorrow, Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka has reminded everyone to focus on the message of light over darkness and good over evil.

He says they are looking forward to celebrating Diwali and has urged people to reflect on its message as we move forward together as a nation.

Meanwhile, Diwali, which is also known as the festival of lights, and holds deep spiritual meaning for Hindus.

It symbolises the victory of Dharma over Adharma, light over darkness, good over evil, and knowledge over ignorance.

Diwali is traditionally celebrated twenty days after the Vijayadashami festival, with Dhanteras marking the first day when families clean their homes and make colourful rangoli decorations.
