The FIJI Water Flying Fijians will be playing in a warmer climate in Málaga after moving from the cold environments of England and France.
The Fiji Rugby Union says the team was officially welcomed by the Mayor of Málaga, Francisco de la Torre Prados, and upon their arrival skipper Tevita Ikanivere presented him with a Fiji rugby jersey as a token of appreciation.
The FRU says they are grateful for the Mayor’s hospitality, adding that the warm welcome reflects rugby’s ability to bring people together through shared passion, culture, and camaraderie.
The Flying Fijians have begun their preparations with a walkthrough session at Estadio de Atletismo Ciudad de Málaga as they build up to their highly anticipated match against Spain.
The team to face Spain will be announced tomorrow morning.
Fiji will take on Spain this Sunday at 4am.
