The combination of FIJI Water Flying Fijians loose forward Viliame Mata and winger Kalaveti Ravouvou stole the spotlight as the duo combined brilliantly to help the Bristol Bears beat Gloucester 49-34, with Ravouvou scoring one of his two tries from a trademark offload by Mata.

The Bristol Bears’ rugby page described the moment as a couple of free-wheeling Fijians, Mata’s combination with Ravouvou equals carnage.

The pair, who were instrumental in helping Fiji secure their seventh Pacific Nations Cup title and a historic win over Scotland during the July test window, have continued their impressive form throughout the season for the Bears.

Both Mata and Ravouvou have been named in the Flying Fijians squad for the upcoming Northern Tour, where Fiji will take on England, France, and Spain.

Bristol Bears Director of Rugby Pat Lam says it has felt like the end of the season trying to manage players, but the coaching group is working hard to maintain clarity and give the team the best chance to perform.

He adds that while the side was lethal in attack, they spent a lot of time defending after missing several high balls.

However, Lam praised the team’s fight and commitment, saying their unity and resilience continue to shine through.
