The FIJI Water Flying Fijians are fully aware of the high expectations from the home crowd when they take on Tonga in their first Pacific Nations Cup match this afternoon.
The Flying Fijians have been going through some intense training sessions, anticipating a physical match against their Pacific brethren.
Captain Tevita Ikanivere says they have been training hard and worked on their systems, both in attack, defence, and set piece.
Meanwhile, Tonga is coming in hot after a 30–16 win over Samoa in their PNC opener last week.
The rivalry between the two Pacific nations dates back as far as 1924, when they first met on the rugby field.
The last time the two teams met was in September last year at the Teifaiva Stadium in Tonga, where the Flying Fijians thumped Tonga 50-19.
Fiji plays Tonga at 3pm today at the HFC Bank Stadium.
