If you are residing along the Wainibuka River in Tailevu and the Wainimala River in Naitaisiri, please take precautionary measures as a flood warning is now in force for both the rivers.

A heavy rain alert remains in force for the whole of Fiji Group and a flood alert is also in force for the downstream of the main Rewa River from Navolau Village

The Weather Office says a trough of low pressure lies slow moving over the Fiji Group.

They say the associated cloud and rain is expected to affect the country till tomorrow.

The Office says there will be occasional rain, heavy at times and isolated thunderstorms over most places while rain is expected to gradually ease to showers later tomorrow from the West.

They say low level roads near to small streams, culverts and flood prone areas have already been affected by flood waters in the upper catchment of these rivers.

The Weather Office says rain may lead to flash flooding of low lying areas, susceptible communities and businesses.

It can also cause localised flooding of minor roads, Irish Crossing and bridges with some disruption to traffic flow and poor visibility at land and sea with increased risk of vehicle accidents due to slippery roads.
