During this time of the year, there is an abundance of moisture in the environment and with more heating, the risk is elevated for afternoon and evening thunderstorms. Heavy rain can be experienced in a short duration of a few hours.

A trough of low pressure lies slow moving over the Fiji Group.

The associated cloud and rain is expected to affect the Northern and Eastern parts of the country until tomorrow.
