It was a painful moment for Pritika Chand as she watched her Sakoca Settlement home destroyed by a fire yesterday afternoon.

Her home was one of five homes that were destroyed and more than 20 people are now homeless.

Chand says her husband and she had struggled for 13 years to have a decent home and now that has been destroyed.

Speaking to fijivillage, Chand says her husband had just completed their home two months ago and to see his struggles go up in flames is heartbreaking.

Chand says she does not know what they are going to do now or where they are going to live and she thinks she won't be sending her children to school if classes resume this year.

Meanwhile, the National Fire Authority has started its investigation to determine the cause of the fire.
