Film productions injected an estimated $138.5 million into the Fijian economy last year which created jobs for over 2,700 people.

This was highlighted by the Minister for Tourism Faiyaz Koya at the Film Fiji Mobile Movie Awards Presentation today.

Koya says despite the challenging times the world is going through, they must continue to give the film-makers an avenue to express their creativity and refine their craft.

He has reiterated the importance of providing a platform to our film-makers to sharpen their talent as this would encourage and strengthen the growth of our film industry.

Koya adds the successful premiere of the 10 episodes of the “World’s Toughest Race” – Eco challenge Fiji shows that Fiji is capable of hosting major international productions.
