Fijiana 7s players makes the cut for Fijiana 15s squad for World Cup in NZ

Six Fijiana 7s players who were part of the national team which won the bronze medal at the Olympic Games last year and silver medal at the Commonwealth Games have been selected in the 32-member Rooster Chicken Fijiana 15s squad for the Women’s Rugby World Cup in New Zealand next month.

They are Fijiana 7s captain Rusila Nagasau, Roela Radiniyavuni, Raijieli Daveua, Ana Maria Naimasi, Sesenieli Donu and Lavena Cavuru.

Also included in the squad is 7s speedster, Aloesi Nakoci.

The squad consists of 23 local provincial players of which 15 played for the Fijiana Drua and won the Super W Championship.

Other players included in the 32-member squad are Joma Rubuti, Bitila Tawake, Asinate Serevi, Sereima Leweniqila, Vitalina Naikore, Vika Matarugu, Kolora Lomani and Talei Wilson.

The Fijiana’s first match is against England at 4.35pm on the 8th of October, then they will play South Africa at 5.45pm on the 16th of October and take on France at 7.15pm on the 22nd of October in their final pool match.

The Fijiana 15s will play 3rd ranked Canada at 6pm tomorrow.
