A Fijian national will appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court today after being charged with allegedly indecently exposing himself on a domestic flight in Australia.
The Australian Federal Police (AFP) charged the 30-year-old man on 1st June 2025, following an investigation into an alleged incident that occurred on a flight from Melbourne to Brisbane that morning.
AFP officers at Brisbane Airport responded to a request for assistance from the airline and attended the aircraft upon arrival.
Police allege the man indecently exposed himself to two female passengers seated in the same row during the flight.
The passengers, who did not know the man, reported the alleged behaviour to airline staff and were subsequently moved to different seats.
Airline crew then monitored the man for the remainder of the flight.
Upon landing, the AFP escorted the man from the aircraft before speaking with him, other passengers, and crew members.
Following inquiries, the AFP charged the man with one count of indecent exposure. The offence carries a maximum penalty of 12 months’ imprisonment.
AFP Detective Superintendent Anthony Conway stated there is no excuse for offensive behaviour in any situation, particularly in the confined space of an aircraft.
He added that indecent conduct on a plane will not be tolerated, and the AFP will take action against individuals who engage in such criminal behaviour.
